Learn about Governor Johnson’s 501c4 to organize state level campaigns for marriage equality, decriminalization, and other issues.

If your group would like to co-sponsor this please contact me.

You are invited to join Gary to discuss the Our America Initiative – the ONLY national grassroots movement promoting both fiscal responsibility and social acceptance. From chairing state initiatives for “guns rights, equal marriage & pot legalization” as Michael Barone wrote about the majorities in favor of these personal rights, to running national PR campaigns against the scandals at the NSA, IRS and overseas interventions, OAI is redefining the liberty movement and taking advice from individuals like yourself on our next action.

The OUR America Initiative is a 501(c)(4) political advocacy committee and may receive unlimited donations from both individual and corporate donors.

Gary Johnson on Syria

I’m going to keep this short. We only have a few days to stop the United States from launching yet another ill-advised military intervention on the other side of the globe.
After first insisting he didn’t need it, President Obama has decided to seek approval from

Congress before launching missiles or dropping bombs on Syria. While the whole idea of intervening militarily in Syria’s civil war is a bad one, asking Congress for authorization is the right thing to do.
Now it is time for us to step up and do our part as concerned Americans who abhor the use of chemical weapons, but do not see how launching an attack on Syria will serve ANYONE’s interest, especially the Syrian people’s — or make us safer here in the United States.
Now that Congress will have a say in the decision to launch the missiles — or not, we have a few short days to let our Senators and Representatives know that military intervention is a bad plan, plain and simple. Emails and phone calls to Senators and Members of Congress make a difference, especially if they receive a lot of them.
To contact your Senators, simply go to U.S. Senate. For your Representative, go to U.S. House. Send a short email or call their offices, and tell them “NO” to a military intervention that will only hurt America’s interests.
In addition to sending emails such as this to our supporters and friends, the Our America Initiative will be utilizing social media — Facebook, Twitter, etc. — to encourage hundreds of thousands of Americans to also contact Congress. We need your help to do that.  Go to Our America and make a contribution of $10, $25, $50 or more that we will use to reach as many people as possible to urge them to act.
Contact your Senators and Representatives TODAY. They will likely be voting next week.  We can stop Obama’s plan to launch missiles and drop bombs into a war that is not ours to fight.
Thanks for your help! Together, we can prevent the politicians from making a very serious mistake.

Gary Johnson’s Our America

I am often asked: What is the fundamental purpose of the Our America Initiative? My answer: To give voice to the principles of liberty, small government and greater freedom.
We know that millions of Americans share our vision. They want their government to do less, spend less and protect liberty rather than destroy it.  Our job at Our America is to put that vision into action and make ourselves heard in the major debates of the day, whether they be health care, privacy and the 4th Amendment, marriage equality, drug law reform or balancing the federal budget.
We’re doing exactly that.  In just the past week, I appeared on Larry King’s Politicking show, where we talked about a whole range of issues.  You can watch it here: Politicking.  Last Friday, I took our advocacy of common sense drug law reform to MSNBC’s Jansing and Company
Also, our initiative to Stand Up 4 the 4th Amendment was featured not only by the New Mexico Watchdog, but by Human Events — one of the nation’s most widely-read “conservative” news organizations.
In short, in just the past few days, the Our America Initiative has reached hundreds of thousands of Americans, giving voice to the ideas and principles of liberty and taking our message to viewers and readers of all political stripes.
Reaching these diverse and large audiences is important.  But we must do more, and that’s where Our America depends on your support.  Travel for media appearances, promoting our messages on social media, organizing our leadership and activists — like you — in all 50 states. All of those efforts require funding, and are made possible by your contributions.
Please go to Our America Initiative today and help us restore liberty as the true American value. Our voice is critical in the fight to rein in the NSA, spread marriage equality and defend our freedoms from a government intent on taking them away.
Thank you, as always, for your friendship, your support and your work.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Gary Johnson joins Equal Marriage Arizona

This morning, the Our America Initiative joined with
a newly-formed grassroots organization,
Equal Marriage Arizona, to file the necessary
paperwork to begin gathering signatures to place
a Constitutional Amendment on the ballot in Arizona
to overturn the state’s ban on same-sex marriage
Gathering the 400,000 signatures it will take to give
Arizona voters a chance to enact  this historic amendment
will be a massive undertaking — and I’m asking for your help.
Like a great many legal experts, I believe the U.S. Supreme
Court will — any day now — empower states to decide the
fundamental question of marriage equality.  We want to
seize the momentum such a decision will create, and
doing so in Arizona, a “conservative”  western state,
will send a message of individual freedom to every
corner of the nation.
We are extremely fortunate to have great leadership for
Equal Marriage Arizona.  It is chaired by Warren Meyer, a
Phoenix businessman and highly-regarded libertarian
writer, and co-chaired by Erin Ogletree Simpson, a retired
Tucson attorney and chair of Arizona’s Log Cabin Republicans.
We have crafted a proposed amendment that not only
protects the rights of committed couples to marry, but
also clearly protects the religious freedoms of all faiths.
The team is in place and the paperwork is filed.
Now, we need YOU.
Take a moment to watch this great we released
this morning — and feel free to share with your friends.
I urge you to go to today
and make a contribution that will allow us to fund
this landmark initiative.  While we will be depending
heavily on volunteers and grassroots supporters to
place the Equal Marriage Amendment on the ballot
in Arizona, it is a simple reality that success will require
substantial funding.
Overturning Arizona’s ban on same-sex marriage is
just the first step in a broader effort that will extend to
additional states in the days and weeks ahead.
Eliminating marriage discrimination requires a coalition
that cuts across all political lines.  I am proud that this
effort is being launched from a platform of liberty,
individual freedom, and fundamental fairness — and
I am excited by our prospects for success.  In a
dramatic shift from a few short years ago, polls show
that America is ready for marriage equality.
Our task is to provide them with the opportunity to go
to the polls and take this decision away from the politicians
and the courts.
Please go to today and let
us know that you are ready to help, either by volunteering
or making a financial contribution that will help us make
some history in Arizona and beyond.
I am excited by this great opportunity, and look forward to
having you as a part of this important step toward getting
the government out of the business of discriminating
against gay Americans.
Your friendship — and your support — are deeply appreciated.
Thank you,
Gov. Gary Johnson

P.S.  Don’t forget to visit today
and let me know of your support.  We have a LOT of work
to do, and must get started NOW.
About Governor Gary Johnson: A two-term governor of New Mexico from
Gary Johnson has been a consistent advocate for limited, efficient
government and personal liberty. As the Libertarian candidate for
President in 2012, he received more votes than any Libertarian
candidate in history. An outspoken pro-Constitution libertarian,
Johnson opposes American involvement in foreign conflicts with
no clear U.S. interest. He opposes the failed multi-billion
dollar war on drugs and demands greater transparency at the
Federal Reserve. Johnson advocates cutting federal spending
dramatically to achieve a balanced budget and make government
live within its means without raising taxes. He believes real job
creation and economic opportunity can be best achieved through
smaller government and less regulation. The National Review
rated Johnson as “#1” in job creation as governor. An avid skier
and bicyclist, he has reached the highest peaks on five of the seven
continents, including Mount Everest and, recently, Aconcagua in Argentina.
OUR America Initiative seeks to broaden the parameters of the public
policy debate in the national arena. We look to enlighten Americans about civil liberties, free enterprise, limited government, and the traditional American values of freedom and liberty. It is our aim to increase discussion and involvement regarding all-important issues of the day.
